NOTA will play a major role in the Nagar Nigam and Nagar Palika elections this time. Polling for Nagar Nigam will take place in CM City, Karnal, Hisar, Rohtak, Panipat and Yamunanagar. While Nagar Palika elections will take place in Fatehabad’s Jakhal Mandi and Kaithal’s Panduri. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) are in the fray for these elections in the district. The election for Hisar municipal corporation has become a race versus caste battle. With the BJP announcing Punjabi leader Gautam Sardana, former minister of Congress Savitri Jindal and Bishnoi have lent weight behind Rekha Eran (a Bania), who will fight the poll as an independent.
