Prime Minister Narendra Modi called up Nitish to congratulate him and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah has also accepted the mandate of the people of Bihar. The mahagathbandhan is leading in 161 seats, with the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA is ahead in 74 seats respectively so far.
