India celebrated its 77th Independence Day today in a grand way at the Red Fort in New Delhi where Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed his ‘family’ (Parivarjan), the citizens of the country. The mega event at the iconic Red Fort was attended by several ministers and political leaders including Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud had also attended the event. A video from the event where Amit Shah, along with his wife, met CJI DY Chandrachud shortly before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Independence Day address to the nation was shared on social media.
A video shared by news agency ANI on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, showed Amit Shah, along with his wife and CJI Chandrachud exchanging greetings during the Independence Day celebrations at Red Fort.
It can be seen in the video shared by ANI, that Home Minister Amit Shah and his wife Sonal Shah are sitting in the VIP Row, at the Red Fort, to attend the Independence Day Celebrations of this year. As soon as Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud reached the VIP Row, Amit Shah and his wife got up to greet him.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah greeted CJI DY Chandrachud and then shook hands with him, acknowledging his presence at the function. The Chief Justice also exchanged greetings with Amit Shah’s better half.
In what was Narendra Modi’s tenth Independence Day address at the Red Fort, the Prime Minister gave a speech that lasted for about 90 minutes. In his speech, the prime minister recognised the efforts of the leaders who sacrificed to help India attain freedom, spoke about the progress the nation has made in the last few years and the position it is going to reach in the coming years.
PM Modi spoke of the various schemes initiated by the government that have benefited the citizens of the country and have helped them improve their living standards by a large margin. The prime minister also addressed the issue of Manipur Violence and said that peace is being restored in the state, the government is working towards a solution and the people of Manipur must rest assured as the country is standing with them in these testing times.
Narendra Modi also spoke about how India is the mother of democracy and diversity, how we as citizens are one big family and unity is what will help us grow in the coming years. Emphasizing on women-led development, PM Modi highlighted the contribution of women of the country and how keeping them safe, protecting them is not just a social but also a familial responsibility of all the citizens of India.
In his speech, the Prime Minister also took a dig at the Opposition who promote ‘nepotism’ and slammed ‘dynasty politics’ by saying that there are political parties ‘by the family, of the family and for the family’. Narendra Modi believes that corruption and appeasement are also society evils that must be fought and defeated.
