Honeymoon horror: Sonam Raghuvanshi, who is allegedly the mastermind of murder of Indore-based businessman Raja Raghuvanshi will be taken from Patna to Kolkata and then from Kolkata to Guwahati on Tuesday. Meghalaya Police has got three days transit remand of Sonam.
According to police, she will be taken from Patna to Kolkata at 3.55 pm. It is reported that she will be taken from Kolkata to Guwahati at 9 pm.
The case has taken a sensational with the Meghalaya police arresting Raghuvanshi’s wife Sonam (25) and her three alleged aides — Akash Rajput (19), Vishal Singh Chauhan (22) and Raj Singh Kushwaha (21) — in connection with the murder.
According to the Meghalaya police, Sonam had allegedly hired killers to get rid of her husband during their honeymoon in the north-eastern state last month, just days after their marriage in Indore.
Sonam and her husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, had gone to Meghalaya for their honeymoon after recently getting married. The two were reported missing on May 23, but things took a dark turn when Raja’s body was discovered in a deep gorge on June 2.
Following this, the search for Sonam continued. About a week later, she appeared at a police station in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh. Her sudden return raised many questions.
Police in Meghalaya, who are handling the investigation, believe that Sonam was having an affair outside her marriage. They say she planned her husband Raja Raghuvanshi’s murder with help from her boyfriend, Raj Kushwaha. Under growing pressure, Sonam surrendered on June 8. Both she and Raj have since been taken into custody.
