The much-talked about Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, is far from being solved. But with details emerging, the nation is now hooked to this sinister crime story in which the main accused is the wife, Sonam.
In the latest gruesome detail, the murder happened infront of Sonam. All the accused came to Guwahati on the May 21 and followed Sonam. They reached Cherrapunji on the May 22, on the same day Sonam also reached.
Sonam then left Guwahati for Indore by train on May 23. She reached Indore on the May 25 and met her lover Raj there who made her stay in a rented room in Indore. Then a driver dropped her to UP. After the murder, Sonam and Raj were constantly talking to each other, police said.
How the police worked
Meghalaya police named the entire operation as Operation Honeymoon in which there were 15-20 police officials of the core team involved in cracking the case.
According to police, 60-70 people were involved in the search, raids were conducted at all the places where the plan was made together on June 7. Profiles of 3 accused were checked.
The police knew on June 3 and 4 that Sonam was involved in the murder. According to police, one of the hitman Akash’s blood-soaked shirt was found at the crime scene. Sonam gave her raincoat to Akash, which was found 6 kilometers away from the crime scene. According to police, the reason behind the murder was to get Raja Raghuvanshi out of the way and stay with Raj.
According to police, the weapon was bought from a shop outside the hotel in Guwahati and the plan was hatched after just 7 days of marriage.
What made the police doubt?
According to police, the couple did not take or upload any photo of themselves after coming here giving rise to suspicion.
