Lucknow, June 3: Union minister Maneka Gandhi suffered from a severe stomachache during the visit to her parliamentary constituency Pilibhit. She has been admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Friday, where she will undergo a gall bladder surgery, hospital official reported.

Officila reports also suggest that Maneka Gandhi was brought to the hospital at 8.30 p.m. She has been admitted under general surgeon Anurag Srivastava and will be examined before a gall bladder surgery.

BJP, MP and son of Maneka Gandhi, Varun Gandhi announced that her mother has been diagnosed with gallstones and will undergo surgery at the AIMS.

Varun Gandhi tweeted from his official Twitter handle saying that “My mother was admitted to AIIMS last night, where she will undergo surgery in the next few days. I thank everyone for their blessings and prayers.”

The 60-year-old Union Women and Child Development Minister, yesterday complaint of severe stomach pain and breathing trouble around 3 p.m while she was on a visit to her constituency Pilibhit. She was immediately rushed to a nearby government hospital. She was earlier admitted to the emergency ward of the local government hospital in Pilibhit of Uttar Pradesh but later was airlifted to the AIIMS for further treatment.

While WCD Ministry said in a statement that “A team of doctors has examined her. Her condition is fine and she will be under observation at AIIMS for a day or so. The treatment for gall bladder stone will continue.”
