The comics are back for their third rodeo! Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh are teaming up once again to deliver their humor in “Housefull 3,” and this time, they are bringing Abhishek Bachchan along for the ride. The trailer of the movie, which also stars Jacqueline Fernandez (who returns after “Housefull 2) and newbies to the series Nargis Fakhri and Lisa Haydon, promises equal parts nonsensical jokes and equal parts physical comedy, something all three lead actors are brilliant at.
In the movie, Boman Irani returns as Batuk Patel, the proud father of three ‘sanskari’ daughters who, unlike most parents, doesn’t wish for his daughters to get married. Obviously, they have other ideas and want to marry their boyfriends. Since Patel doesn’t agree, the men come up with an idea to emotionally con him—Sandy (Kumar) pretends to be a cripple, Bunty (Bachchan) pretends to be mute, and finally, Teddy (Deshmukh) pretends to be blind.
Things never go according to plan and therefore, enter Jackie Shroff’s Urja Nagre from whom Patel has taken a heavy loan and is out to take his money back. A whole lot of chaos ensues and results in light violence and heavy comedy.
The movie looks a little silly and doesn’t need its logic to be questioned because this is the “Housefull” franchise. Like the previous two, this one has the same ingredients and a few new players. Will the movie be crazy, raunchy, and even offensive on many levels? Yes. Yet, somehow, like the other two, this movie will also be a commercial success. The original movie had Deepika Padukone, Jiah Khan, Arjun Rampal and Lara Dutta while the second had John Abraham, Rishi and Randhir Kapoor, Mithun Chakraborty, Shreyas Talpade, Asin Thottumkal, Zarine Khan. Each of those movies did well at the box office.
However, the one thing to look forward to is the insane comedic chemistry between the three male leads, each of whom has a lot of experience and strength to elicit laughter from their audiences. Chunkey Pandey and Irani will also return to the film for the third time in a row.
“Housefull 3” is directed by Farhad-Sajid and produced under the Sajid Nadiadwala banner. It will release June 3, 2016.
