New Delhi: In the Hyatt hotel brawl case, the brother of the accused issued a written statement on Wednesday agreeing to cooperate in the investigation. Ashish Pandey’s brother Ritesh said, “Our entire family is ready to cooperate in the investigation but media is being biased in reporting the incident.”
Ritesh is an MLA of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) from Ambedkar Nagar.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Police is coordinating with the Uttar Pradesh police to carry out the search operations and arrest Pandey, said Uttar Pradesh’s Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order), Anand Kumar. A non-bailable warrant has been issued against Pandey by Delhi’s Patiala House Court. The police have initiated the procedure for cancelling his arms license as well.
Suresh Kumar, DM of Ambedkar Nagar, told news agency ANI that certain provisions of the Arms Act will be considered before revoking Ashish Pandey’s gun license.
On Tuesday, Delhi Police took suo motu cognisance of a video in which Pandey, son of former BSP MP Rakesh Pandey, was seen brandishing a gun in the premises of Hyatt hotel in the national capital, following a brawl with Kanwar Gaurav – son of ex-Congress MLA Kanwar Karan Singh. The incident took place on the night of October 13.
