Hyderabad, July 24: At least two people died and 10 others were injured after an under-construction building collapsed in Film Nagar in the city, on Sunday. Three people are feared trapped under the rubble and the rescue work is going on. More details about the tragedy are awaited, even as spot visuals show that rescue operations are underway. The injured have been shifted to the hospital and are undergoing treatment. The two-storey building was being renovated, when it collapsed, police officials told the media. The deceased have been identified as Ansar Shaik of Kolkata and Anand from Hyderabad, both of them labourers. Local police officials said that extra floors were being added above the existing two floors, when the building, located next to the Film Nagar Cultural Centre, suddenly collapsed, burying two people and injuring scores others. The incident was reported from Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad, on Sunday afternoon. The design of the building is said to be the cause of the building’s sudden collapse. The plan was to build six storeys in all, and four floors had already been completed. At least 50 workers were engaged in the construction work and the slab work had been completed on Saturday night.
