New Delhi: A 12-year-old boy on Saturday committed suicide by jumping from the fifth floor of a multi-storeyed apartment in Hyderabad because his father gave a Tab that he wanted to his elder brother. The incident took place around noon in their apartment in Miyapur district of Hyderabad, police said. The boy, identified as Bala Venkata Satya Prasad, studied in Class VI in a private school and lived in a penthouse with his parents and elder brother. According to reports, the two siblings got into an argument and started fighting over who gets to play with the Tab. Both siblings had wanted the device and when the father came home, he gave it to the elder sibling. Attempting to pacify the situation, their father intervened, took the gadget and gave it to the elder son, Nanda Kishore. He then left for work. Upset over it, the youngster immediately rushed to the fifth floor of the building, climbed atop a water tank using a ladder and leapt over. He suffered grievous injuries and was immediately taken to the nearby hospital. However, the doctors declared him brought dead.



A case of unnatural death was registered subsequently on a complaint from the father, police said.
