New Delhi, June 28: At least four self-styled godmen have been arrested in Hyderabad for extorting at least 500 grams gold, 1 kilogram silver and Rs. 1 lakh cash as well from a 48-year-old man. The four accused- E Vasu, T Sathakoti, K Babu Srinu, and V Pullayya, who are all astrologers and belong to West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh and reside in Hyderabad, told the man in question, that there was a threat to the lives of his wife and children and asked him to perform a slew of rituals for their well being. The victim gave them Rs. 1.10 lakh through cheque and also gave them gold bars weighing a total 500 grams and 1 kg silver too, reported Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat. Police have seized 500 grams gold, 1 kg silver and Rs. 1 lakh from the four accused. The case came to light after the man lodged a complaint with police saying that the accused called him again and said there was a threat to his life.
