Hyderabad, Sept 26: The Hyderabad Police have arrested four people including one ‘Qazi’ in the recently busted ‘sheikh’ marriage racket. DCP South V Satyanarayana said that the other three arrested were Arab Sheikhs. The Hyderabad Police had on September 20 busted a major ‘sheikh’ marriage racket wherein men from Arab nations were marrying minor girls in and were later pushing them into human trafficking. The police had arrested 20 people, including five Omani nationals, three Qatar nationals and 13 Indians. The arrested Indians include three Kazis, brokers, and lodge owners. Qazis had condemned the racket and had denounced the practice of marriages of minor girls to Sheikhs. Original Qazis never support child bride rackets, said a renowned Qazi as quoted by news agency ANI.
