Hyderabad, August 17: A minor girl in Hyderabad was allegedly sold for Rs. 5 Lakh to Oman based Sheikh Ahmad for marriage. Syeeda Unnisa, mother of the minor, in her complaint to the Police said her brother-in-law got her daughter married to Sheikh forcefully. She alleged the girl was shown videos of lavish lifestyle by Sikander, husband of her sister Gausia, luring her to get married to Sheikh. Unnisa said Sikander had brought a Qazi along with him to perform the rituals of the marriage at a hotel in Barkas. Shiekh was demanding his money back paid to Sikander to return the girl, the mother said. “The sheikh is saying he had bought my daughter for Rs 5 lakh. He said this was paid to Sikander. Only if this amount is paid, he said he would send my daughter back to India,” Unnisa was quoted as saying by The Times of India. The complaint was registered at Falaknuma Police on Wednesday. Unnisa pointed out the Sheikh stayed in India for four days after the marriage and went back to Oman. Meanwhile, Sikander allegedly arranged the documents for the girl to get her landed in Oman. She also met ACP, Falaknuma, Mohd Tajuddin Ahmed and urged him to book culprits and bring her girl brought back to India. “I am being threatened when I ask him to get my daughter back,” she said.
