Hyderabad, Feb 26: A 28-year-old software engineer was arrested on Sunday for allegedly sharing intimate pictures and videos of his girlfriend with his friends on popular messaging app WhatsApp. The accused techie has been in a relationship with the victim, who is his office colleague, for the past couple of years. According to the complaint filed by the woman, his boyfriend Nageshwar Rao saved some pictures and videos of her on his mobile phone. Rao shared these personal pictures and videos with his friends via WhatsApp. The victim came to know about this when a relative informed her about the pictures and videos being circulated on the WhatsApp groups. “When she inquired with Rao, he tried to avoid her and she approached the police on Saturday and lodged a complaint seeking action,” Malkajgiri Deputy Commissioner of Police Ch Umamaheshwara Sharma told a newspaper. A case under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code and Information Technology Act against Rao based on the complaint. The accused employed with a reputed IT firm located on the outskirts of the city. Further investigation was underway.
