Coimbatore, Feb 20: A few idols were found damaged in a temple near Periyanaickenplayam on the city outskirts early today. The incident came to light when the priest of the Karupparayan Temple in Thirumalainaicken Palayam found the head and leg portion of a diety damaged following which he lodged a complaint with the police. Idols of Naga (snake) and Horse, where people take vow and make offerings for fulfilling their wishes, were also found thrown at a distance from the original place. Investigations were on, police said.
