New Delhi, August 23: Senior lawyer and BJP MP Ram Jethmalani on Sunday said that it is gross misunderstanding to call Hurriyat leaders, separatists. He criticised the leaders from the government as well as other political parties, for referring to the Kashmir based group’s leaders as separatists, calling people who use the term for them as ‘illiterate’.
The maverick senior lawyer defended Pakistan’s right to meet Geelani by saying that it’s a sovereign country. In a sharp attack on the ruling government for not allowing the Pakistan High Commissioner to India to engage in talks with Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Jethmalani said, ‘High Commissioner of Pakistan to India is from a sovereign country, how can you stop him from meeting someone?’ Also Read: Ram Jethmalani shoots 12 stinging questions to Arun Jaitley on black money!
