Patna/Singapore, April 20: The annual meet of the alumni of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) was organised at Patna and Singapore recently. Connections 2018 is being organised by the IIMC alumni association (IIMCAA). The series of alumni meets, that began at the IIMCAA headquarters in New Delhi on February 18, would culminate at Chandigarh this Sunday, April 22.

At the Bihar chapter meet in Patna, IIMC Director General KG Suresh announced that the institute would soon be starting a new media course. He said readership in regional languages was growing. He said that identifying this need for better reporting in regional languages, the institute had begun courses in regional languages like Marathi and Malayalam. He also said that efforts were on so that alumni could put in another year of study at the institute and earn a degree instead of a diploma. IIFCO IIMCAA award went to Utkarsh Singh for agriculture reporting.
Singapore chapter held its maiden meet at Estoria Park Club House.The meet was presided over by general secretary Saurav Chaturvedi. Aradhana Jha was elected the new treasurer. Representing the central committee from India were former central committee vice-chairperson Prasad Sanyal and central committee member Rashi Bisaria.
