New Delhi: The Delhi High Court, in a midnight hearing on the intervening night of February 25 and 26, directed the Delhi Police to ensure safe passage and emergency treatment for all those injured in the riots that rocked the national capital in the last three days. Notably, the court was hearing an urgent plea which sought safe passage for the injured to medical institutions with adequate facilities. The hearing took place at the residence of Justice S Murlidhar.
A total of 17 people have died with nearly 200 others take injured in the violence that broke out in the national capital’s northeast area over the new Citizenship law.
