New Delhi: ‘India awaits your arrival US President’, said PM Modi hours ahead of Donald Trump’s touchdown in Ahmedabad. Notably the American President, First Lady Melania Trump, along with a high-powered delegation will arrive for a two-day India visit at 11:40 AM today.  The delegation accompanying Trump includes his daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner. Earlier on Sunday, before embarking upon the journey to India, Trump had said that he is looking forward to being with the people of India. He had also called PM Modi a great friend of him.

“I look forward to being with the people of India, we will be with millions and millions of people. I get along very well with PM Modi, he is a friend of mine. PM told me this will be the biggest event they have ever had,” Trump had stated yesterday.

Trump is arriving on his maiden two-day visit to India. With this, he becomes the seventh American President to visit the country. He has a jam-packed schedule for around 36 hours which he will spend in India.
