Meanwhile, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi will address multiple rallies on his second day of Assam tour. Election Commission of India will release the results of 12 legislative constituencies which went into by-elections on Saturday. For entertainment fans, Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor starrer Ki and Ka remains the point of conversation.

Prime Minister’s outreach towards Opposition ahead of Budget Session

Narendra Modi will hold meeting with senior Opposition leaders of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. The all-party meet will focus on the issue of clearing the pending Goods and Service Tax legislation. With Budget Session set to begin from February 23, ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is hopeful that the taxation reform bill would be cleared after failure of passage in the previous two sessions of the Parliament. Key by-election results to be released today – All eyes on Uttar Pradesh

Results for the by-polls conducted in 12 legislative constituencies will be released today. Election were conducted on Saturday. The seats include – Muzaffarnagar, Bikapur and Deoband in Uttar Pradesh, Devadurga, Hebbal and Bidar in Karnataka, Narayankhed in Telangana, Maihar in Madhya Pradesh, Palghar in Maharashtra, Khadoor Sahib in Punjab, Harlakhi in Bihar and Amarpur in Tripura. The three seats in Uttar Pradesh have grabbed eyeballs since the region is divided on communal lines and would also be a preview of the upcoming Assembly elections at the onset of next year. Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi will address multiple election rallies in Assam on second day of his electoral campaigning tour. He will hold a meeting with Civil Society Leaders of Upper Assam region Circuit House in Sivasagar. Former Delhi University professor SAR Geelani arrested in JNU sedition row 

Delhi Police has arrested ex-Delhi University faculty member SAR Geelani for anti-national activities. Geelani had organized the pro-Afzal Guru event in Press Club of India commemorating the third anniversary of his hanging. During the event, Guru’s execution was termed as judicial murder.
