New Delhi: Responding to Pakistan’s warning of 10 surgical strikes against India in response to a single such attack, Lt Gen Ranbir Singh GOC Northern Command said that the Indian Army is fully prepared and any challenging task can be undertaken when required. He further added that it doesn’t who made the statements. Also Read - With Article 370 Gone, Army Now Wants to Buy Land in J&K to Set up Camp

“I assure you that the Indian Army is fully prepared. When required any challenging task can be undertaken. It doesn’t matter as to what statements are being made from what quarter,” he said, news agency ANI reported. Speaking of the counter-infiltration grid at the Line of Control (LoC), Singh said that they are very effective at various tiers of the grip up to the hinterland. “It is because we have been able to neutralise a large number of terrorists,” he said, adding, “As per inputs available to us, there is no change in terrorist infrastructure across the LoC in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, and therefore we keep having several reports of infiltration attempts by Pakistan trained terrorists.”

The statements came a few days after Pakistan warned of “10 surgical strikes” against India in response to a single such attack, in the latest war of words between the two estranged nuclear-armed neighbours. “If India dares to launch a surgical strike inside Pakistan, it will face 10 surgical strikes in response,” Ghafoor was quoted as saying by Radio Pakistan.

He also said, “those who think of any misadventure against us should have no doubt in their minds on Pakistan’s capabilities”.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has earlier indicated at yet another surgical strike-like operation on the terror launch pads across the border to avenge the killing of BSF jawan, Narendra Singh, by the Pakistani troops. Addressing a gathering on the second anniversary of the 2016 surgical strikes across the LoC, Rajnath Singh said, “Something big has happened, I won’t say what…Some people know. And you will see ahead, what happens).”
