New Delhi, June 9: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website’s online portal-, has launched a beta version of its new user interface which is user-friendly and which offers you easier navigation. The website had to be updated as e-ticketing constitutes about two-thirds of total reserved tickets, said railways. However, the final roll-out of the new website with the new interface will happen at a later date.

The website is still in the trial phase for 15 days and is open to suggestions and improvements. Let’s have a look at the new features.

You can now check seats without login

The new interface of e-ticketing website allows you to enquire or search trains and check the availability of seats without login. This can save a lot of time.

Change font size according to your comfort viewing experience

The new website will have an option for users to change font size on the website for a comfortable viewing experience.

Better organisation and planning

The new website has been updated to class-wise, train-wise, destination-wise, departure/arrival time wise and quota-wise filters for facilitating customer while planning their journeys.

New dashboard

The train number, train name, originating and destination station and distances between them, arrival and departure time and journey time can now be viewed in a Single-screen.

Waitlist prediction

Now users can also check the probability of getting their waitlisted or RAC t tickets confirmed. There is a new ‘Waitlist prediction’ feature helps you do this.

New algorithm

The new algorithm incorporated in the website allows you to predict train bookings and hints users accordingly on the availability, in accordance with your past booking trends of the particular train.

New colours scheme

The new colour scheme feature provided the facility to modify the journey details on the journey planner page itself to make the booking of tickets easy.

Advance reservation period

The new website will provide the facility for users to find out the availability up to the entire Advance Reservation Period which is 120 days at present, except a few trains.

Perform multiple activities

In the new interface, user can perform multiple activities through booked history such as cancellation of tickets, printing of tickets, request for additional SMS, selecting alternative train by exercising the option of ‘Vikalp’ and change of boarding point if required.

Further, the website has been optimized for smooth navigation in mobiles, desktops, laptops, and tablets.
