New Delhi, May 4: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has launched a new method for rail ticket booking. Passengers can even book tatkal tickets through the newly introduced way. “Now, IRCTC e-wallet users can book rail tickets through its mobile app IRCTC Rail Connect,” IRCTC said on Twitter.
In a bid to make the experience of ticket booking easy for the passengers, the IRCTC now allows them to make a reservation in trains through the IRCTC Rail Connect App. Like Paytm or Mobikwik, IRCTC e-wallet user can recharge and use that amount at the time of booking tickets.
To be able to use the e-wallet facility, passengers need to register themselves on the official website of IRCTC. Reportedly, a used can keep six banks on his/her preference list. Recently on April 5, the IRCTC had introduced new rules for booking of Tatkal tickets.
IRCTC Rail Connect App provides cab booking facility also.
The e-ticketing arm of Railways has also introduced IRCTC Food on Track App with which passengers can order their favourite food is just a click away during train journey from a place of their choice.
In addition, the Indian Railways has also launched no bill, free food policy under which, the passenger can avail the food for free if vendor doesn’t provide a bill for food and beverages purchased on trains.
