New Delhi: India’s railway portal has announced the IRCTC Air plan which seeks to provide free air travel insurance to customers worth up to Rs 50 lakh. To fructify the plan, IRCTC has tied up with Bharti AXA General insurance company, stated a report. The Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation has developed the new air travel option to customers so that they could book their air tickets through the official website of IRCTC Air – air.irctc.co.in. Through this air ticketing platform, customers can book their tickets for both domestic and international fights.
The new Air plan was tweeted in the official Twitter handle of IRCTC on Wednesday. The message read: “The Flight book facility is now found on the mobile app of IRCTC. Here you will find tickets at economical prices, then book IRCTC on air.”
Meanwhile, the IRCTC has offered an app which allows customers to book a plane ticket for just Rs 50 as service charge against the Rs 200 charged by other online platforms. In the month of February IRCTC has also tied up with Google to enable customers to easily book the air ticket online. This tie-up was to give IRCTC a tougher stance when compared to other travel portals like Yatra.com, MakeMyTrip.com, goibibo and ixigo. The cheap air travel opportunity would be made available for the passengers through the Google flight option.
In yet another offer, the IRCTC has announced various tour packages ranging from 10-day to 13-day International cruise tour package. The Norwegian Getaway Cruise organised by IRCTC Tourism International cruise is set to begin from June 24 to July 29, 2019. The IRCTC is offering the free domestic return air tickets from origin to Delhi as part of its Republic Day dynamic pricing/Promo offer.
