IndiGo flight from Ranchi to Delhi cancelled due to technical reasons; authorities issue apology

The Flight 6E 5024 from Ranchi to Delhi was cancelled on September 15 due to technical reasons.

New Delhi: Indigo Airlines issued an apology to the passengers of the Ranchi-Delhi flight as they were held up inside the aircraft for two hours after the flight was delayed due to a technical issue on September 15. The Flight 6E 5024 (Ranchi-Delhi) was originally set to depart at 8:40 PM but was delayed for around three hours due to technical issues. The passengers were made to stay seated for two long hours, and at 11.40 PM, they were asked to deboard the plane.

Later, it was announced that the flight 6E 5024 from Ranchi to Delhi was cancelled on September 15 due to technical reasons. “The aircraft will be back in operations after necessary maintenance. Flyers were provided with refreshments, refunds, and alternate flight options. IndiGo apologizes for the inconvenience caused to the customers,” a statement from the airline read.

On September 15, IndiGo flight 6E 1303 traveling from Mumbai to Doha was also cancelled, a spokesperson said. The statement from the airlines read, “IndiGo flight 6E 1303 operating from Mumbai to Doha was delayed due to a technical reason. Our airport team immediately provided assistance to the affected customers and provided refreshments and necessary arrangements.”

“The aircraft tried to depart for its destination a couple of times but had to finally be called off due to the extended time lag on account of various procedural delays. The customers are being provided hotels and are being rebooked as per their final destination. IndiGo sincerely apologizes for the inconvenience caused to its customers,” it said.

As per the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), incessant rainfall has been lashing Jharkhand for the past two days, due to which Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s roadshow in Jamshedpur on Sunday was also cancelled.
