New Delhi, June 30: Passengers of an Indigo flight were evacuated at Patna airport on Friday after smoke was observed in its cabin. As per reports, there were 174 passengers in the flight and all of them were safely evacuated using emergency procedures.
News agency ANI in this regard shared a video of the evacuation process where anxious passengers are seen sliding out of the emergency exits as the flight waits in Patna airport, with security and airport authorities seen helping the passengers to get out of the airplane.
As per the official statement of Indigo, “A statement by Indigo says flight 6E-508 was involved in a low speed reject due to suspected engine stall and was then evacuated in 60 seconds.” The statement also further said that the captain chose to evacuate due to precautionary reasons.
The statement also clarified that there was no fire in the engine or tyre burst. It further stated that when the flight arrived at the airport, there was no technical snag reported.

In this regard, while an internal inquiry has been already initiated, the incident has also been reported to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, a report suggested.
As per reports, the flight suffered from engine failure while taxing during take-off at around 6 pm. The flight to New Delhi was cancelled following the incident and has also affected the functioning of other four flights as well.
