Lucknow, Apr 10: Dr Saurabh Rai, a passenger travelling from Lucknow to Bengaluru, was offloaded at Lucknow airport from his flight by IndiGo staff, after he complained of mosquitoes on board. While the doctor has accused the staff of having misbehaved with him, the airline has alleged that the passenger was unruly even before the cabin crew could address his concern.
The passenger has reportedly said that the airline staff threatened him and threw him out of the flight. He also claimed that the airline staff threw his luggage out of the aircraft and the air hostess said that there were mosquitoes not just in Lucknow but the whole of India.” The IndiGo flight from Lucknow to Bengaluru was full of mosquitoes, when I raised objection, I was manhandled by the crew and offloaded from the aircraft, I was even threatened,” Dr Saurabh Rai said. “As matter escalated after closure of the aircraft doors, he attempted to instigate other passengers on board to damage the aircraft & used words such as ‘hijack’. Hence, keeping in mind applicable safety protocols crew apprised pilot-in-command, who decided to offload him,” the airline added. However, there is no information on whether the airline has decided to put him on the no-fly list or not.
