Indrani Mukerjea gets one-day bail to perform father’s last rites
The CBI has given Indrani Mukerjea one-day bail (December 27), however, she has not been allowed to fly out of Mumbai.

Mumbai, Dec 27: Indrani Mukerjea has been allowed by the CBI to walk out of jail to let her perform the last rites of her father in Mumbai. She will be allowed to leave the jail for a day with full police escort. Her father Upendra Kumar Bora died on December 15 in Assam. The CBI has given Indrani Mukerjea one-day bail (December 27), however, she has not been allowed to fly out of Mumbai.

Mukerjea had filed a bail application seeking permission to go to Guwahati to perform the last rituals.
Indrani Mukerjea is the prime accused in the Sheena Bora murder case. She was arrested in August, 2015 for the alleged murder of her daughter Sheena Bora. Her husband Peter Mukerjea is also in jail for allegedly assisting in the murder.
Sheena Bora, daughter of Indrani Mukerjea, was murdered by Indrani Mukerjea for allegedly entering into a relationship with Peter Mukerjea’s son from an earlier marriage.
24-year-old Sheena Bora was murdered by her mother, her former husband Sanjeev Khanna and her former driver Shyamvar Rai in April 2012. The incident came to light in the year 2015 when Mukerjea’s driver confessed to the police for allegedly assisting Indrani in committing the crime and when her remains were found in August 2015 in the forest in Raigad.
Mukerjea has been in jail for over a year now.
Sheena Bora was the unacknowledged daughter of Indrani Mukerjea and in public, was introduced as Mukerjea’s sister.
