New Delhi, June 20: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Lucknow tomorrow to celebrate the International Yoga Day 2017 — also International Day of Yoga and World Yoga Day. The International Yoga Day will be celebrated across the world as the United Nations gave its recognition and designated June 21 as when it will be celebrated. Here we will share with you the details of key events and link of live streaming of the International Yoga Day celebration in Lucknow, attended by PM Narendra Modi. This year, the theme for the International Yoga Day celebration, organized by the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations, is ‘Yoga for Health’.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will perform Yoga along with 51,000 participants in Lucknow’s Ramabhai Ambedkar Sabha Sthal. The United Nations declared June 21 as the International Yoga Day on December 11, 2014. The first International Yoga Day function held on June 21, 2015, at Rajpath in the national capital witnessed Narendra Modi performing Yoga along with over 200 million people across the country and over 37,000 people in Delhi alone.

International Yoga Day celebration in Lucknow:
The third edition of the International Yoga Day will be celebrated in Lucknow. According to the Ayush Ministry, the programme will start at 6 a.m. Various organisations, NGOs and Yoga gurus have held camps and practice sessions to make the mega event huge success. PM Modi will lead a crowd of 50,000 to 55,000 in doing yoga on the International Yoga Day.
International Yoga Day event in Delhi:
To make the International Yoda Day, seven events will be organised across Delhi. These are being planned in association with New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and Yoga organisations. According to the Ayush Ministry, the locations of these events are Cannaught Place (NDMC), Nehru Park (NDMC), Lodhi Garden (NDMC), Talkatora Garden (NDMC), Dwarka (DDA), Rohini (DDA) and Khureji (DDA).
International Yoga Day at UN:
India’s Permanent Mission to the UN as well as the Indian Consulate have planned several events to mark the International Yoga Day. The mission will organise ‘Conversation on Yoga for Health’ at the UN in association with Department of Public Information and World Health Organisation between 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Speakers at the event will include Kher, World Health Organisation Executive Director Nata Menabde, Swami Chidanand Saraswati and Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati, Former NFL athlete turned yogi Keith Mitchell, Bluechip Marketing Worldwide CEO Stanton Kawer and Swami Sivadasananda.
This year, the UN will also issue special stamps commemorating Yoga Day. The UN postal agency, UN Postal Administration (UNPA) will issue the new special event sheet to commemorate the day that has been marked annually since 2015. Thousands of yogis from around the world will travel to Times Square to celebrate the Summer Solstice with free yoga classes in the heart of New York City.
Other events:
Government institutions such as All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will also hold an event to mark the day with faculty members and students performing Yoga. Indian missions in the Netherlands, Trinidad and Tobago, and the United States, among other countries, will hold programmes on Yoga with participants from various sections of the society. The French Embassy in India also announced that it will hold a Yoga and music programme on June 21.
