IRCTC ‘Menu on Rails’ App Will Help Passengers to Know Food Items Available on Trains

Through this app, passengers will get to know the food items which will be available on the train.

New Delhi, April 23: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will soon be launching an app ‘Menu on Rails’ where passengers will get to know the food items which will be available on the train. The items will be shared with their respective prices.

The app will be available on Android and IOS platforms, is currently being tested. To know more about the functioning of the app, passengers have to select from the options—Mail, Express, Humsafar trains, Rajdhani/Shatabdi/Duronto trains, Gatiman Express or Tejas Express, And on basis of their selection, the app will show them available food items.  In this regard, a website is being created by railways and it will also be linked with e-ticketing websites.

In a bid to attract more passengers, IRCTC is coming with many initiatives. The authority has recently tied up with most popular cab aggregator Ola with an aim to provide door to door service to its passengers. It is six-month pilot projects under which railway passengers can book an Ola cab on the IRCTC Rail connect app and website www.irctc.co.in. In past also they have tied up with food chains such as Domino’s, KFC, McDonald’s and Sagar Ratna among others to provide this service.
