New Delhi, October 2: A juice brand has been delisted by IRCTC from its food menu after former railway minister Dinesh Trivedi complained of a contaminated drink during his travel. On September 30, he had boarded the Kathgodam-Delhi Shatabdi Express in which he was served lemon juice of a popular brand which he called ‘Kachra’.

Such kind of ‘kachra’ cannot be served on trains. Action must be taken against the brand and the catered. Inspection of the juice should be done at the factory where it is produced, added Trivedi.

Speaking to news agency PTI, Trivedi said IRCTC needs to pull up its socks and needs to put in checks and balances so that there is some accountability of its subsidiary departments. Acting promptly on Trivedi’s complaint, railways delisted the brand and dispatched it for a laboratory investigation.

According to Trivedi, the department needs to be taken into account for such incidents and not the railway minister. The former railway minister also held passengers responsible as they do not raise their voice against such issues.
