Manali, July 25: A 25-year-old Israeli woman was allegedly gang-raped by the men that she hitchhiked a car ride with, during the wee hours of Sunday, reports said. The woman had planned to visit Kaza in Spiti Valley, Himachal Pradesh, and was looking for a taxi to get there, when a vehicle without a number plate came and offered her a ride to Manali. The men allegedly told her that she will be able to get a taxi from Manali to Spiti. The woman reportedly boarded the car with six men in it, two of who raped her at an unknown location. The woman said that two of the six men raped her at a location, which she couldn’t identify and then they dropped her off at Manali. Speaking to the Times of India, Kullu superintendent of police (SP) Padam Chand said, “The medical examination has been carried out and sent Mandi for expert opinion. However, since the entire town and the surrounding areas are all under the surveillance of CCTV cameras, the police are confident of cracking the case. “The complaint has been registered. We are checking video footages. Investigations are headed in the right direction,” the SP told the paper. The victim said that the incident took place early morning, when it was still dark.
