New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday welcomed US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania on the eve of their visit. “India looks forward to welcoming President Trump. It is an honour that he will be with us tomorrow, starting with the historic programme in Ahmedabad!” PM Modi tweeted, quoting a post of Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani. Notably, Rupani had shared a video, showing preparation for the ‘Namaste Trump’ event. He had captioned the video,”Entire Gujarat speaks in one voice.”

Earlier this month, PM Modi, in a tweet had said he was ‘extremely delighted’ that US President Donald Trump will visit India.

“India will accord a memorable welcome to our esteemed guests. This visit is a very special one and it will go a long way in further cementing India-USA friendship,” the Prime Minister had tweeted on February 12.

US President Donald Trump and US First Lady Melania Trump will arrive in India on a two-day visit. Besides, Trump’s daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner will also accompany the US president. Both Ivanka and Kushner are senior advisors to Trump.

Trump and his high-powered delegation  will spend the first day of the trip in Ahmedabad and Agra before moving to Delhi for the official reception and bilateral talks.

In Ahmedabad, the US president will jointly address an event ‘Namaste Trump’ with PM Modi at Motera stadium.
