Reports said two terrorists were killed in the encounter earlier in the day. They reportedly belonged to Jaish-e-Mohammed terror outfit. Also Read - It's Becoming Difficult to Supply 'Necessary Items': Top Jaish Commander Tells Terrorists in Kashmir

The encounter was a joint operation conducted by the Rashtriya Rifles, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Jammu and Kashmir police. Also Read - Another Jaish Terrorist Arrested From J&K's Pulwama by Security Forces

Later, during a clearing operation, terrorists who were in the hiding came out of a damaged house and fired indiscriminately upon the joint troops in which four personnel; two of CRPF and two of police, were martyred while a civilian also died in the encounter. Reports say many personnel were injured as well.

The operation was still on when the last reports came in.

Meanwhile, there were reports of heavy shelling in Balakote sector of Poonch district by the Pakistan Army.

Elsewhere, more ceasefire violations by Pakistan were reported along LoC in Mendhar, Balakote and Krishna Ghati sectors at around 6 PM.

On Sunday, Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Superintendent of Police (Dy SP) Aman Thakur and an Army jawan were martyred in an encounter with terrorists in Kulgam district of south Kashmir. Three JeM ultras were also neutralised at Tarigam village while an Army Major and three jawans are reported to be injured.
