New Delhi, Aug 2: Noted lyricist and screenwriter Jalees Sherwani, famous for penning down songs for Bollywood films like Salman Khan-starrer Dabangg, Tiger Zinda Hai and Wanted, died on Wednesday, following a massive heart attack, reports claim.

Taking to Twitter, Indian filmmaker and social activist Ashoke Pandit expressed grief over Sherwani’s demise. He wrote: “Sad to know about the demise of one of our veteran writers #JaleesSherwani ji. May his family gain the strength to bear with this huge loss. We will miss U. #RIP.”

Sherwani started his career back in 1987 with N Chandra’s ‘Pratighat’. He has also given hits like Baaghi, Loafer, Sangram among others.

Jalees Sherwani was also the president of the Film Writers’ Association for quite some time.
