Srinagar: In the latest update in Pulwama encounter which went for 18 hours in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pingala, a South Kashmir DIG, a lieutenant colonel, a Brigadier and a captain were injured. Further, three Jaish terrorist were neutralised during the encounter, including, Abdul Rasheed Ghazi alias Kamran — the Jaish-e-Mohammed commander who masterminded the February 14 terror attack which left 40 CRPF personnel dead. Abdul Rashid Ghazi, an IED expert and trusted lieutenant of Masood Azhar, planned and executed the Pulwama terror attack. However, there is no confirmation yet on Ghazi’s killing. Earlier in the day, four army personnel were martyred in the encounter involving many Jaish terrorists. During the operation, a Major was also amongst the four martyred. Also Read - Jammu and Kashmir: Terrorists Lob Grenade at Security Forces Deployed in Tral, Jawan Injured
The four martyred security personnel belonged to the 55 Rashtriya Rifles. They have been identified as Major VS Dhoundiyal, Havaldar Sheo Ram, Sepoy Ajay Kumar and Sepoy Hari Singh.
This incident came days after 40 CRPF personnel were killed in the wake of Pulwama terror attack which took place in Jammu and Kashmir on February 14. The entire nation is mourning over the death of security personnel, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi vowing to avenge the deaths in the terror attack.
