Special police officer (SPO) Mudasir Ahmad Lone was abducted by the militants from his home at Chainattar village on Friday night. Meanwhile, some reports claimed that he was kidnapped while on his way to a relative’s residence in the region. The incident comes days after constable Saleem Khan was abducted from his residence in the Mutalhama area of Kulgam district in south Kashmir. A few days later, his bullet-riddled body was found. Khan, who was on leave when he was abducted, had joined the services in 2016 and after completing his basic training, was posted to DPL Pulwama.
In another similar incident, police had recovered the body of a constable Javaid Ahmad on July 5. He was also abducted by militants from his home in the Shopian district of Jammu & Kashmir.
Last month an Army jawan Aurangzeb was abducted and killed by terrorists from Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama while on his way back home to celebrate Eid with his family. After his abduction, the Jammu and Kashmir Police had launched a massive manhunt. Hours later, his bullet-riddled body was found in the outskirts of Pulwama.
