Identified as Mohammad Yaseen Bhat, the Army jawan belonging to Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantary (JKLI) unit, had been abducted from his residence in Qazipora Chadoora, news agency ANI said. Also Read - Shehla Rashid Reacts To Her Estranged Father's Charges, Calls Them 'Absolutely Baseless'

As per media reports, Mohammad Yaseen Bhat had come home on a vacation on February 26.

The incident comes at a time when a heavy security in the state has been deployed in the state in the wake of Pulwama terror attack in which 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans were killed as an explosive-laden vehicle rammed into a bus in their convoy on February 14.

Last year, Aurangzeb, a rifleman of 44 Rashtriya Rifles who was posted in Shopian, was abducted from Pulwama by terrorists and later his bullet-ridden body was recovered on June 14, a day before the holy festival of Eid.

In a similar incident, the body of Jammu and Kashmir police constable, who was kidnapped by terrorists on south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thursday, was recovered on July 6 from Kulgam’s Pariwan.

Javaid Ahmad Dar was abducted from a local medical shop in Shopian. He was a personal security officer for former superintendent of police Shalinder Mishra.
