Jammu And Kashmir: CRPF Trooper on Leave Attacked by Militants, Dies in Pulwama

New Delhi, Jul 29: A CRPF trooper died after militants attacked him at his home in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, police said. He was on leave when the militants attacked him.

Militants entered the house of Naseer Ahmad Rather in Naira village of Pulwama and fired at him. The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) trooper was taken to hospital in a critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The attack came days after a police constable who was abducted by unknown terrorists from his residence was found dead in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir. His bullet-riddled body was recovered from Qaimoh Gath area. The constable Salim Khan was on leave when he was abducted last night from his residence in the Mutalhama area of the district.

Couple of days back police had recovered the body of a constable Javaid Ahmad. He was also abducted by militants from his home in the Shopian district of Jammu & Kashmir.

Last month an Army jawan Aurangzeb was abducted and killed by terrorists from Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama while on his way back home to celebrate Eid with his family. After his abduction, the Jammu and Kashmir Police had launched a massive manhunt. Hours later, his bullet-riddled body was found in the outskirts of Pulwama.

In May last year, terrorists had kidnapped a young Lieutenant of Rashtriya Rifles, Ummer Fayaz, while he was attending a wedding in his family in Shopian. Fayaz’s bullet-riddled body was found the next day.
