Srinagar, Jul 28: Four Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans were injured on Saturday in a terrorist attack in Awantipora under Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. The terrorists lobbed a grenade at a CRPF bunker in Jawbehra area earlier this evening. The injured personnel have been shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Earlier in the day,  a Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Police Special Police Officer  (SPO) was abducted by terrorists in Pulwama district’s Tral region. Reports claimed that the militants kidnapped the police officer Shakeel Ahmad Lone while he was visiting one of his relatives in the region.

The terrorist attack on the CRPF personnel comes a day after a civilian and one security guard were injured after two terrorists barged into a bank and opened fire in south Kashmir’s Kulgam.

In recent months, the state has witnessed a stark rise in terror activities.

On July 26, five security personnel were injured after terrorists lobbed a grenade at a CRPF bunker in the Bijbehara town of the state.
