Srinagar: A 39-year-old man was on Monday evening shot down by suspected terrorists in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

It is a developing story, more details are awaited.

In an earlier incident on May 4, a BJP worker identified as Gul Mohammed Mir (60) was allegedly shot dead by terrorists in south Kashmir’s Nowgam in Verinag. Immediately after the firing, Mir was shifted to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced brought dead. The security forces have cordoned off the area and an investigation has been launched into the case. He had sustained five bullet injuries, three on his chest and two in the abdomen, according to reports. This attack came two days after a former BJP worker was shot at and injured by some unidentified men in the Kachmulla village of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
