A man was thrashed by locals in Srinagar for trying to unfurl Indian flag

A man was allegedly thrashed by locals on Tuesday at Srinagar’s Lal Chowk while he was trying to unfurl the National Flag. The shocking incident comes on the eve of the nation’s 72nd Independence Day.

According to reports, while the man was beaten, few locals also raised anti-India and pro-Zakir Musa slogans.

The man was later rescued by the security forces. More details are awaited.

Last year, Shiv Sena had sent its workers to hoist the national flag at Srinagar’s Lal Chowk area which had led to a massive furore.
