New Delhi: Three terrorists including the mastermind of Pulwama terror attack Mudasir Ahmed Khan alias ‘Mohd Bhai’ have been killed in an encounter with security forces in Tral town of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Khan has been identified as the ‘brain’ behind the ghastly terror strike in Pulwama that left 40 Central Reserve Police Force personnel martyred on February 14.
Khan, an electrician with a graduate degree and a resident of Pulwama, arranged the vehicle and explosives used in the terror strike. A resident of Mir Mohalla of Tral, Khan joined the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) sometime in 2017 as an overground worker and was later drawn into the terror outfit by Noor Mohammed Tantrey, alias ‘Noor Trali’, who is believed to have helped the terror group’s revival in the Kashmir Valley.
Huge cache of arms and ammunition were also recovered from the possession of slain terrorists. If reports are to be believed, the house in which the militants were hiding was destroyed in the operation by the security forces.
The cordon and search operation is currently underway. “OpPinglish, Tral (Pulwama). Three terrorists killed. Joint operations in progress,” tweeted the Indian Army’s official Twitter handle.
The Indian Army, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a search operation, acting on a tip-off about the presence of terrorists in the area. The search operation turned into an encounter after the militants opened fire at the search party of the forces who retaliated.
