Srinagar: A terror group on Tuesday issued a threat to security men in Jammu and Kashmir to either give their resignation or get ready to be killed. The threat came in a form of video, wherein a man’s voice could be heard. The man is speaking in Kashmiri language and asking the security personnel to resign within four days, NDTV reported.
“Upload your resignations on the internet or face the consequences,” the news channel quoted the local head of Umar Majeed group which is an offshoot of Hizbul Mujahideen as saying. However, the authenticity of the video can’t be verified by the news channel.
Further, the security workforce has also claimed that they have seen posters bearing such threat messages. Though they don’t think the messages are very serious but feel that they can’t be taken lightly either.
It must be noted that this threat comes a day after a territorial army soldier was shot to death. The soldier was home in south Kashmir’s Kulgam for his son’s funeral when the miscreants barged into his home and killed him.
In an earlier incident on September 13, 3 Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists were killed and 12 security personnel injured in an encounter in Kakriyal area of Reasi district in Jammu and Kashmir, a day after they fired on a police party here and escaped. “3 terrorists have been killed and 12 security personnel have been injured. These terrorists were from Pakistan’s Jaish-e-Mohammed. Operation is over,” he was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
