Jangpura election result 2025: In a closely contested battle, BJP’s Tarvinder Singh Marwah has defeated AAP leader and former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in the Jangpura assembly seat by over 600 votes. This marks a significant setback for AAP, as Sisodia, a key figure in the party, had shifted from his traditional Patparganj seat to contest in Jangpura.

Sisodia expressed the hope that the BJP would work for the welfare of the people in the area. “I extend my congratulations to the winning candidate and hope they will focus on the progress and welfare of the people of Jangpura,” he told reporters.

Jangpura is one of Delhi’s 70 assembly constituencies and is located in the South East district. It is a general category seat and went to polls on February 5. This year, BJP had nominated Sardar Tarvinder Singh Marwah, while Congress had chosen Farhad Suri to contest against AAP’s Manish Sisodia.

In the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, AAP’s Praveen Kumar won the seat with 45,133 votes. BJP’s Impreet Singh Bakshi secured 29,070 votes, while Congress’s Tarvinder Singh Marwah received 13,565 votes.

In the 2025 Delhi Assembly Elections, Mustafabad recorded the highest voter turnout at 69.00%, followed by Seelam Pur (68.70%) and Gokalpur (68.29%). These areas had strong voter participation.

On the other hand, Mehrauli had the lowest voter turnout at 53.04%, with Model Town (53.40%) and Malviya Nagar (54.00%) also seeing low participation. The overall voter turnout across Delhi was 60.44%.
