New Delhi, February 21: With Jat agitators protesting for their reservation issues in Haryana violently, the people in capital will have to suffer from water crisis for entire Monday and if the stir does not end then the situation might worsen with time. Arvind Kejriwal government had already ordered all the schools to remain closed for Monday and appealed to people to use water sensibly. the Chief Minister had sought Indian Army’s help to open the Munak canal from where the 70 per cent of capital’s need is fulfilled.
According to latest report, seven Jal Board water plants have been closed and state minister Kapil Mishra has said that there is no water left for Monday for the Delhiites. It has also been announced by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia that exams have been postponed and new admission will be delayed. Following the water crisis, people have been asked to use water sensibly. The Kejriwal government said that they are trying to solve the issue as quickly as possible. Informing the media about the chaotic situation, Arvind Kejriwal said, ” We have sought help from the Indian Army to help open the Munak Canal to solve our problem and appeal to the people of Delhi to use water sensibly.” He added that they are trying their best, but most probably the situation will prevail and looking at the option available people will have to save water. Sharing the same views, Education Minister Manish Sisodia said that if there is no water, then children will not be able to get ready for schools and it makes no sense to keep then open when there will be no one to attend it.
