New Delhi, March 19: After the Jat protestors decided to limit their protests only in Haryana, following the understanding they arrived at with the Haryana CM, the commuters might be confused about the information required for their Monday commute schedule. This story will provide the latest key traffic and Delhi Metro updates to ease the headache of the commuters.
As per reports, although the Jat protestors called off their protest in Delhi, and the Delhi police relaxed all the initial restrictions, but security arrangements which were made at the Delhi-Haryana Border were kept intact. According to Dependra Pathak, Special Commissioner of police and Delhi police spokesperson, even though the restrictions were skimmed, the three-tier security with reportedly 110 companies of forces, which include the paramilitary, Rapid Action Force and Riot Control Force will be intact and ready for any situation.
Although the traffic in Delhi will ply as usual as all restrictions have been lifted, the respite for most commuters must be the removal of restrictions on the functioning of the Delhi metro. As per Joint Commissioner of police, Traffic, Garima Bhatnagar, no roads will be closed or diverted.
Luckily for the metro commuters, most of the restrictions have been removed, and all trains will travel to the NCR areas as well. As per the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation(DMRC), most of the restrictions have been redacted, with some restrictions in exiting at four metro stations in the Central Delhi area.
Exit at the Patel Chowk, Central Secretariat, Udyog Bhawan and Lok Kalyan Marg (earlier known as Race Course) metro stations will be restricted. However, entry at all of these metro stations will be allowed.
There is no restriction on interchanging and commuters can interchange for the yellow or violet lines at the Central Secretariat metro station. Initially the DMRC announced that train services to and from all Delhi stations would be suspended from 11.30 pm on Sunday until further orders. Apart from that DMRC also declared that 12 metro stations lying the NCR area will not function from Sunday, 8 pm. But the new announcement removed all restrictions and said that the metro rails will travel and function in the NCR areas as well.
