Bengaluru, June 15: A Jet Airways flight returned to the Bangalore airport soon after departure on Wednesday as smoke was detected in the cabin. Jet Airways flight 9W 2839, which was going from Bangalore to Mangalore, had smoke detected soon after leaving Bengaluru International Airport. The jet Airways flight returned to Bangalore and made emergency landing. “Precautionary evacuation of guests and crew was carried out immediately on landing,” a spokesperson of the Jet Airways flight 9W 2839 said in a statement. The spokesperson also stated that all 65 guests and four crew members are safe. Last month, a Jet Airways aircraft skidded off the runway while landing at the Indore domestic airport. Fortunately, the aircraft was not damaged in the incident and all 66 passenger on board along with four crew members have been evacuated safely.
