Congress has accused the ruling Raghubar Das government of using the pending cases as a political instrument to prevent the three legislators from participating in today’s elections. The party also reached the Supreme Court demanding intervention. However, the apex court has not shown urgency to act in the matter.
Three seats in Rajya Sabha are up for grab. While the BJP is winning on two seats easily, the third one was expected to be secured by the JMM candidate backed by Congress. However, BJP has fielded an independent from the seat, which has led to a nail-biting contest.
