New Delhi: The stage is finally set for the Jharkhand’s Littipara bye-elections result.The counting of the votes is expected to begin at 8 AM which will decide the winner of the prestigious battle between Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is trying to capture a seat that the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has held for the last 40 years.
The seat fell vacant following the demise of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) legislator Anil Murmu due to heart attack in January this year. To claim victory, Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das himself had campaigned for five days for the party candidate in the bye-poll.
As per the reports of leading news agency Press Trust Of India, Jharkhand’s Littipara bye-poll saw 68 per cent voting. A total ten candidates, including BJP’s Hemlal Murmu and JMM’s Simon Marandi are in the fray. The main contest is said to be between Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Hemlal Murmu and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha’s old warrior Simon Marandi.
Amidst the poll, EVM tampering issue was raised by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). They had demanded the use of ballot papers in the elections, alleging the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) trying to influence the bye-poll by posting their officials.
Littipara Bye-Election Results 2017 LIVE: The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) was leading in the Littipara assembly constituency in Jharkhand. JMM’s Simon Marandi was leading by 9227 votes after 19 rounds of counting while the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party’s Hemlal Murmu was at second position with 47385 votes.
The Counting of votes enter round 15 and JMM’s Simon Marandi is inching towards comfortable win with 49391 votes.

Simon Marandi, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha’s candidate, takes a massive lead over Bharatiya Janata Party’s Hemlal Murmu. Marandi has bagged 30709 votes in round 10 whereas Murmu managed to get 26483 votes.

The counting of votes enters round 6, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha candidate Simon Marandi has bagged 19183 votes.
Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) candidate Simon Marandi takes a massive lead by bagging 11767 votes in round 4 whereas Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Hemlal Murmu lags behind with 9414 votes.
